At Lalor East Primary School, we have adopted an ongoing reporting format. Ongoing reporting is the process of reporting regularly throughout the year, instead of at the end of each semester.

During each term, parents will be able to view student learning progress in different learning tasks via Compass.

These tasks focus on different areas of the curriculum which have been taught in the classroom. Learning tasks allow teachers to report about a child’s performance progressively for each term so that parents are able to regularly see their child’s academic growth.

Learning Tasks will provide information about skills that students have mastered and areas for future growth and development.

At the end of each semester (Term 2 and Term 4), families will receive a detailed formal report that will contain all their child’s learning tasks along with a summary page that shows where the child sits on the continuum of learning achievement. It will show if the child is working at the expected standard, or is working above or below the expected standard.

Other methods of reporting student learning progress to families occur throughout the year and include:

• Three Way Conferences (Term 1)
• Three Way Conferences (Term 3)
• Student Portfolios
• Informal conversations with teachers (Throughout the year)

We are keen to work in partnership with our families and believe that by providing a range of different reporting methods, we can capture your child’s learning progress and set goals for future learning.
